PSA: The Harger Rail Trail is scheduled to have a new surface paved. Work is scheduled to begin July 28th and could last as long as November 14th (although highly unlikely). The Trail will be closed while work is being done.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING Blumfield Township County of Saginaw, Michigan

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: the Blumfield Township Planning Commission will be reviewing a special use permit during the normally scheduled September 8th, 2025 (7:00pm) meeting at the Blumfield Township Offices, 1175 W. Vassar, Rd, Reese, Mi. 48757. The special use permit is for a Dog Grooming Salon at 3460 S. Reese Rd (Tax ID 06-12-6-25-1216-000).

For further information, please contact the Blumfield Township Offices at (989) 868-9512. Written and/or oral comments will also be received at the above-named location or by sending to Blumfield Township Offices at the address above through the date of the hearing.

Blumfield Township will provide necessary, reasonable auxiliary aids and services to any individuals planning to attend this public meeting. Persons interested in such services need to contact the township offices at the above-mentioned address and/or phone number at least five working days.

Blumfield Township was settled by German emigrants in 1850. The settlement of Blumfield was founded on the banks of the Cheboyganing Creek by George F. Veenfliet and Carl Post. In 1853, Blumfield Township, named after Ropert Blum, was officially organized. Today, Blumfield Township is home to approximately 2000 people. Frankenmuth and Reese School Districts serve the residents. The Township Office is located at 1175 W. Vassar Rd and is open by appointment only. Residents needing local government assistance are encouraged to contact one of the Township Board members, who are there to serve you.
